[Review] - Cranberry Joy Shower Scrub And Moisture Collection

Hello everybodiiiiiiiiies! ^o^

Merry Christmas! Feliz navidad! Frohe Weihnachten! Glædelig Jul! สุขสันต์วันคริสมาสต์!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with friends and families (or perhaps you went on adventures in foreign countries like several of my friends did) :O

This year I mostly got money because I had told my family that I preferred experiences over materialistic gifts. I did get a few things however, and one of them was from my little brother Frederik (Thanks again!).
He had bought me the Cranberry Joy Shower Scrub And Moisture Collection from THE BODY SHOP.
I thought the set was super cute and I really wanted to share with you my experience of it, so here you go. My review!

Enjoy the fruity, limited-edition scent of cranberry from top to toe with this pampering box set
Cleanse your skin with the shower gel or soap. Exfoliate with the body scrub and help seal the moisture with the body butter.
Inside are four wonderful limited edition items:
  • The Cranberry Joy Shower Gel
  • The Cranberry Joy Heart Soap
  • The Cranberry Joy Body Scrub
  • The Cranberry Joy Body Butter

Cranberry Joy Shower Gel

"This gentle, soap-free shower gel has a festive cranberry fragrance. It’s a limited edition, created just for Christmas."

I followed their advice and started out with the gel. It had a very strong and fruity smell. I can't tell if it really did smell like cranberry since I've never smelled those, but it was nice indeed. They say that for a more foamy result, you can use a loofah to apply it. I didn't know this before I used it but using your hands will work just fine as well.
My skin was left clean and soft.

Cranberry Joy Heart Soap

"This limited-edition heart soap makes a great stocking filler. It has a fruity cranberry fragrance and contains ground walnut shell."

I'm not a big fan of hand soap, if I may call it that, and have never been; therefore, I can't say much about this one. Instead of using it in my shower, I used it to wash my left hand a little earlier today. It is softer than my right hand and also smoother. Once again I'm not sure about the exfoliating part, I'll leave that to the body butter.
The scent from this is not as strong as from the other items and when washed off, it leaves more of a clean scent than of cranberries (or perhaps my nose has just gone finally numb).

Cranberry Joy Body Polish
"This limited-edition festive body exfoliator is gentle enough to use every day. It removes dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling softer and smoother, and has a fruity cranberry fragrance. It leaves a natural Christmas glow."

Like the gel, the polish also had a very liquid consistency. It contained what looks like little seeds.
After using the gel, it said to apply the body polish. I believe a body polish is different from a body scrub because it is so gentle. It left my skin super smooth and very soft. I'm not so sure about the exfoliation part though...
The minor red grains didn't scrape like they would in a body scrub. The smell was a little more sour than the gel, which didn't impress me. I did, however, like how it didn't leave my skin greasy-like like my lemon body scrub does.

Cranberry Joy Body Butter
Klik for større billede
"Our iconic Body Butter in a limited-edition festive fragrance. It melts straight in to leave skin feeling softer and smoother."

Last step was the body butter.
Since the consistency was so thick, I had to apply a bit to cover my whole body. It probable won't last long if I have to use that much every time.
It says to seal the moisture within your skin and leave it moisturized up to 24 hours. My plan was to write this review yesterday as that was the day I used these products but here, 24 hours and 45 minutes later, my skin still feels super soft and moisturized. THAT sure was a surprise!
My skin feels soft and smooth and my mom constantly tells me how nice I smell (my pyjamas that I wore all day after showering yesterday also has a strong scent). Even though you might not smell it after half an hour, everybody else will.
It smells better on than in the little container so don't let that fool you. A big plus is also how this does NOT feel greasy and sticky on the skin after application, I guess because it really does "melt" into your skin.

Overall I really liked the set and I think it's pretty cool how it's limited to only be sold around Christmas time. I do like the scent but I think it'd be a little too strong for my every day life. Maybe others will be able to pull it off but it wouldn't fit me that well. For Christmas and big events I think it's great! It adds that one extra little thing to make your appearance complete~
If you think this sound like something you'd like to try, don't hesitate to go get it!

I also reviewed the Cranberry Joy Lip Balm if you are interested in more products from the series. You can find the post about it HERE

Exotic Spas

A few days ago, I received a very pleasant mail from Kate Schumer of Priority One Jets. She told me that she had stumbled upon my blog and asked me if I'd like to share their latest blog post about exotic spas around the world, as she thought it would be interesting for my readers. I was very excited that she found my blog fitting for this job and I couldn't agree more with her. Of course I said yes!

"For some, the pursuit for the elusive fountain of youth doesn't end with a trip to the local drugstore. Whether it’s a sprinkle of diamond dust or a slather of caviar, there is no limit on the lengths that some are willing to go to maintain that youthful glow. From exclusive treatments to luxurious locations, here are a few places to visit where the spas are as breathtaking as the local scenery.
Japan (Beverage Pools) – Green tea isn’t only a thirst quencher at the Yunessun Spa in Japan. Several separate, large pools at the spa are filled with warm coffee, green tea, and wine. Visitors are encouraged to choose a pool based on their desired treatment, which ranges from enhancing the immune system to the treatment of fatigue.
Iceland (Mineral Massages) – Mud, salts, and minerals take center stage at this picturesque spa. The Blue Lagoon, among other spas in the area, utilizes different elements of nature to provide a calming and relaxing trip. From in-water massages to algae wraps, visitors ages 6 and up can experience the big outdoors in a completely new way!
Miami (Evian Bath) – This is one time you won’t want to “splish splash” while taking a bath! The $5,000 treatment is a favorite of tennis champion Serena Williams and hailed as the most expensive bath in the world. Located exclusively at the Spa V in Hotel Victor in South Beach, 1,000 bottles of Evian water are used in the process of this treatment. It is believed the French mineral water detoxifies and purifies the skin.
Italy (Hay Bath) – This natural treatment has been a fixture at the Hotel Heubad since 1903, drawing tourists from all over looking for relief from mild to severe medical problems. From muscle cramps to stiff joints, both locals and several doctors have hailed the hay bath as a positive but temporary treatment.
Portugal (Chocolate Facial) – While dark chocolate is considered the “healthy” chocolate for the body conscious, visitors at the Aquapura Douro Valley Spa can get their antioxidants another way. The 40- minute treatment consists of oxygen infused, melted Swiss chocolate spread over the face. It is believed this facial fights aging, promotes healing and accelerates cellular rejuvenation."
Personally, I'd love to go to the Yunessun Spa Resort as I've heard a lot of positive feedback on green tea treatments and because Japanese hot springs fascinate me for some reason. But I sure find it hard to choose... the mineral massage in Iceland sounds good too

You can find the original article below and don't forget to check out their other articles as well :)

She also asked me to share with you a tip on how I like to de-stress during the hectic holiday season.
Unfortunately for me, there are no spas in my area (the only one we had went bankrupt last week), leaving me all by myself. Of course I enjoy giving myself a luxurious and professional treatment, but I don't mind sitting at home either.

One of my most favorite methods to de-stress, is to wear a hair mask and a face mask while sitting in my pyjamas and listening to soft music. And by soft music, I mean something like this.
That way, not only do I treat my body but I also get to unwind my mind and relax.
It's quick and something you can easily do yourself~

There is nothing better than feeling healthy

How do you de-stress?

[Review] - Cranberry Joy Lip Balm

This review is delayed by a week or so... I was supposed to do a review on it the day after I bought it but then it hit me that I'm quite hung up by 4-5 assignments that had to be done and therefore my schedule was pushed a little > <
Anyways, today I want to do a review on my new Cranberry Joy lip balm which is part of The Body Shop Holiday 2013 collection.

I'm really happy about Body Shop because all their products seem to natural to me (and because they always give me recycled paper bags).
My friend Balslev and I went shopping one day and as we were sitting at McDonald's, she pulled out this little beauty. She let me try it and I was sold, I HAD to get one!

The balm is hard so it will take long before it is used up completely (I can't help but to worry about what happens when I've used it so much that the "dome"-shape is gone). It gives off a rather strong but nice smell that is half-fruity-half-artificial. I can't tell if it actually smells like cranberries since I've never smelled those ... sorry ㅠㅠ

This is my own actual photo of it.. the first one seem too Photoshop'd if you ask me. It measures about 3,8∙3,8∙3,8 cm (3,8 cm = 1.5 inch) and it seem like a lot of it is the actual product itself.

It comes in 3 different "flavours"; cranberry, ginger, and vanilla. Since mine is so dark, it also gives off a bit of colour. What I really like is that it is not a "thick" layer of colour, but a subtle tint that leaves the lips look natural and with a tiny hint of shimmer (My lips look HORRIFYING with red'ish lipsticks hence this is a big plus for me). I can't tell of the other two will give off colour though..
What disappointed me a little was that it did NOT moisturize my lips. During the holiday season, they tend to chap like crazy so I really need something that will keep them moisturized. Although it does add moisture it DOES prevent my lips from becoming more dry.

  • Won't be used up quickly
  • Has a nice smell
  • Gives off a nice soft red colour
  • Stays on for quite some time even when you eat

  • Does not moisturize
  • Mid pricey

Would I buy it again?
I have nothing against this lip balm but as long as it doesn't moisturize, I'm afraid it might not be enough for me when December comes. My friends, however, are completely in love with it and always ask if they can borrow it. I DO love how it adds colour without being too much so perhaps I'll just combine it with a normal chap stick to get the effect of moisturized AND pretty lips~

Halloween Tutorial - Calavera de azucar

Hello gurlies
I'm sorry about my being so late with this one and I'm afraid I won't be able to make more of these Halloween tutorials again before next year :/
The white face paint I had ordered arrived later than supposed to and when it actually did, I didn't have the time to work on it as I had some long days in school and, since I live up North, it gets dark very very early around this time of the year, leaving me without natural light which is what I work with.
I figured that if I both had to record and also edit the video, I wouldn't have time to finish before after Halloween and that would have been pretty useless so... I'm doing it in pictures this time. Hopefully you will be able to follow without any major problems.
Also, I know these are not the usual high resolution pictures that I normally use on my blog, but again, the sunlight didn't really corporate! As soon as I got home it'd be dark and my phone isn't very happy about non-lit up surroundings.

Anyhow, please enjoy :)
Do tell me if there's something you'd like to do differently or ask me questions if something confuses you. Have fun and Happy Halloween!

❤ Products used ❤

Eyeliner pencil: White from Gosh
Face paint: AQUA MAKEUP 15G - WHITE from buy_send (ebay user)
Liquid eyeliner: Exaggerate Eye Liner #003 Glossy Black from RIMMEL
Gel eyeliner: 01 Black from MAYBELLINE
Eyeshadow: 88 Original Palette from COASTALSCENTS

Upper lashes: from H&M

Lower lashes: 17 Diamond Dolly from Dolly Wink

Lipstick: 87 Lingerie Pink from NIVEA
Lenses: Super Pinky Violet Lenses from HONEY COLOR

Start out with a bare moisturized face.
The first thing you do is to grab a white pencil eyeliner and trace the pattern. Make a circle around each eye, a "hole" on your nose with a point going inwards, and kinda round'ish shape (in lack of better words) outside the circle.
Next you cover your face with white face paint, avoiding the areas that you just drew (as you see I was pretty bad at that). Grab a liquid eyeliner and retrace the nose hole.
I feel really bad when I have to use excessive amounts of liquid eyeliner so instead I used a black gel liner. The gel liner spreads out fast and still has a great coverage. I only had to dip the pencil twice in the gel to fill the entire nose area.
Take your gel liner again and retrace the circles around your eyes
I didn't like to stare seriously into my camera all the time so here is a goof!
Hahah okay the next step made me look super evil. I took a brown eye shadow that was just a tad darker than my own skintone and traced the other shape around my eyes. I wasn't sure if I wanted to make the line entirely out of little rhinestones and if so, lining here with black would have made it look odd.
Fill in both shaped with a strong colour. I thought I'd make my skull look rather princessy so I choose a pink. Fill one shape at the time, that way you avoid smudging the black gel liner and adding unwanted dark colours to the pink.
Line closely around your eyes with the gel liner and don't forget a pencil on your waterline. As you see, I made the line a little thicker under the eye. Also, I took a dark red and blended in on my eyelid and above the bottom of the ring to make my eyes look more deep set.
Next I put on some fake lashes. See how I didn't put the lower lashes close to my eye but instead placed it under the black? That makes your eyes appear larger and your lashes appear fuller.
I drew a line with my gel liner, since I feel that one is easier to handle than the liquid, and made a faded effect with a black eye shadow right under it. The further you get from your mouth, the larger the area of shadow.
A good way to know exactly where to place the line is to make a duckface and see where your chin sinks in.
When you have added the shadow, you can retrace the line again, I did that after taking the picture.
See the effect? Sunken in face!
More goofyness~ <3
With my liquid liner I drew a spiderweb on my chin and a matching pattern in my forehead. Many people like to add flowers but I'm not the greatest artist when I have t use make-up so I went with a downwards heart and some curls.
Next up are the lips! I chose a pink lipstick that matched my eye sockets. Instead of adding the lipstick just like that, I used a small lip brush. That way I will still have colour on my lips but it won't be all "wet" (you know when you drink from a glass and it leaves a mark). That is very important because we are going to add more. I filled in the heart with a lavender colour and added some pearl-looking rhinestones.

I figured that I didn't have enough rhinestones for both eyes so my plan b was the black line around the pink. I know I could have done it better but at that point I really wasn't sure :/
For the mouth I drew with my liquid liner (same as the eyes) and that's why I wanted as little lipstick on my lips as possible. This way it won't smear~
And lastly I added my violet/lavender circle lenses (that's the reason the heart was this colour) and done!
Of course it works without lenses but my eyes are so light that I felt like it needed something. The blue colour didn't fit the design. A pair of brown eyes would have been perfect!

Good luck and have fun!

Featured - VIVI clothes

Hello gurlies ^o^!

In my very first "Featured" I want to talk about VIVIclothes!
VIVI clothes is a European (Dutch) online store selling Asian fashioned clothes, shoes, costumes, jewelry, phone cases, lenses, etc. I found their website a while ago, saved it, and then forgot about it until now. I looked it up again and I must say that I am very impressed after having looked through their items!
A screenshot of their website

The website itself has a very simple layout, making it easy to navigate around. The categories are in the left side and even more options may appear as you hover them.

You can find several widely known brands there including Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma, Liz Lisa, Candy Stripper, MA*RS, Merci Beaucoup, and more. Oh and they ship internationally(!) + you can pay with your Paypal if you're not too fond of giving out your credit card information :)

Skirts & Costumes ツ
Probably where I spent most time looking around

Also, these two skirts REALLY caught my eyes, I mean look at them! Instant cuteness if worn!
Chinese clothing                               &                           Japan Liz Lisa Cute Hime Gyaru Shorts
